Instead of writing a welcoming blog, I want to express my condolences to people who have lost loved ones. I am deeply sorry about what you have had to endure.
Back in October, I asked someone on Twitter if I could use this post in Arabic to console people. "Of course!", was the reply. I quickly became overwhelmed with how many people were suddenly in mourning or feeling fear for their safety, and have not kept up with sharing this beautiful message:

The English translation is "May God have mercy on them, forgive them, and make them dwell in His spacious gardens, Lord of the worlds." I am praying for the people of the Holy Land, every day, that there be an end to war and a way to lasting peace for all involved.
